The RN Charge Nurse at Loretto Health and Rehab (700 E. Brighton Ave, Syracuse, NY 13205) provides direct nursing care to short-term care of residents for medication administration and treatment for medical conditions/issues, including IV therapy, PICC, respiratory and wound care. Assess resident needs and initiates development of individualized resident care plans. Monitor residents for change in condition and work with physicians and the facility interdisciplinary team to implement physician orders and needed interventions. Supervises and evaluates direct resident care provided within assigned unit and initiates corrective action as necessary. Assists in the admission, transfer and discharge of residents as necessary.

Job duties as a Manager:

• As a Manager, this position is responsible for the ongoing operations and routine decision making within the function, department or site. Emphasis is on executing strategy and tactics. May provide input on strategic matters.
• Interprets and applies organization policy, ensuring all activities are in compliance.
• Delegates, organizes and coordinates the daily operations of departments within the function, department or site.

Job Duties Specific to This Position:

• Performs and assists with various nursing procedures according to the procedure manual.  Assists physicians with treatments or examinations when needed.  Observes treatment and/or services performed by team members or other staff members. 
• Actively participates in development of realistic, measureable, time bound goals for the resident and staff.
• Assists residents with ADLs and special care needs as indicated by Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Interdisciplinary team, etc.

• Current NYS license and registration as an RN in good standing required.
