Overview

The Landscaper Associate is responsible for landscaping and snow removal in collaboration with outside contractor(s). Ensures grounds and exterior are safe for residents and visitor use, and that the property is marketable at all times.

Responsibilities

Job duties specific to this position:   

  • Maintains the grounds and plants on The Nottingham property. Ensures landscaping and snowplow contracts are followed and notifies Facilities Director of noncompliance.
  • Assists as needed with grass cutting, edge trimming, hedge and shrub pruning, leaf and stick removal, and installation of plants, grass, mulch, or trees.
  • Ensures safety and regulatory compliance of the exterior grounds, which includes but is not limited to the shoveling of sidewalks, salting of exterior exits, and plowing of parking lots.
  • Uses manual, power and mechanical tools and machinery according to manufacturer’s instructions and using good safety techniques.
  • May support or perform other exterior and interior projects.
  • Ensures grounds are kept free of debris by removing cut grass, trimmings, branches, and litter.
  • Collaborates with other team members to complete or resolve work orders and address resident requests.
  • Visually inspects the grounds to ensure excellent curb appeal.
  • Purchases supplies as directed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • 1+ year experience in a similar position.
  • Proficiency operating a variety of landscaping and lawn maintenance tools including shovels, rakes, walk behind, riding or zero turn mowers, weed-whackers, leaf blowers, snowblowers, etc.
  • Ability to drive company truck while towing equipment trailer.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work during inclement weather.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
  • Effective communication skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic, flexible schedule, good attitude, willingness to learn and adapt.

 

An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
